At Sign & Bloom, we believe that play and creativity is not just fun, it’s how children express themselves, process emotions, and make sense of the world!
 
Our Creative Play Sessions offer a safe, nurturing space where children can explore feelings, build confidence, and develop communication skills through imaginative, sensory, and expressive play.
 
With over 18 years’ experience in childcare and SEND, I combine my expertise as an Early Years SENCo, Qualified Makaton Tutor, and  BSc Psychology Student to support each child as an individual, meeting them where they are, through play that feels natural and meaningful.
 
These sessions are ideal for children who:

🌼 Find it hard to communicate or connect with others
🌼 Benefit from sensory, creative, and imaginative play
🌼 Need a calm, supportive space to explore and build confidence
 
Each session may include elements such as:
🎨 Art and messy play – expressing feelings through colour, texture, and creativity
🎭 Imaginative play – exploring stories, role play, and symbolic expression
🎵 Music and rhythm – using sound, movement, and Makaton signing to connect and regulate
🧩 Sensory and small-world play – encouraging problem-solving, focus, and communication
 
Each session includes:
✨ Gentle use of Makaton and visuals to support understanding and communication
✨ A calm, child-led environment tailored to your child’s needs
✨ Practical feedback and home ideas to continue emotional and communication growth
