What We Offer
Sign & Bloom offers accredited Makaton tutoring and training services to enhance communication skills for individuals with cognitive impairments such as autism, Down's syndrome, specific learning difficulties, language impairment, multisensory impairment, and acquired neurological disorders.

Our multi modal approach integrates signs, speech, and symbols to facilitate effective communication for everyone.
We currently offer Makaton Taster Sessions, Levels 1-4 Workshops and Baby and Toddler Classes alongside Bespoke Services upon request.

Makaton Level 1 Workshop
The Makaton Workshop Level 1 provides a practical introduction to Makaton for workers, parents and carers who need to use Makaton in everyday situations, at home and/or at work. You will learn the signs and symbols for Stages 1 & 2 of the Makaton Core Vocabulary plus half of the Makaton Additional Vocabulary. The course is very practical and interactive and you will receive a Participant's Manual which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.
Makaton Level 3 Workshop
Level 3 training helps you to improve and develop your signing and symbol skills and how to use them effectively every day. You will revise the signs and symbols you learned in your Level 1 and 2 training, and learn the signs and symbols for Stages 5 and 6 of the Core Vocabulary.
You will receive a Participant’s Manual which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop
Participants must have completed Level 2 training.
Makaton Level 2 Workshop
The Makaton Workshop Level 2 will support participants to build on skills and knowledge gained from attending the Level 1 Workshop.
. You will learn the signs and symbols for Stages 3 & 4 of the Makaton Core Vocabulary plus the remaining half of the Makaton Additional Vocabulary. The course is very practical and interactive and you will receive a Participant's Manual which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.
Participants must have completed Level 1 training.
Makaton Level 4 Workshop
Level 4 training completes the Core Vocabulary. You will revise the signs and symbols you learned in your Level 1, 2 and 3 training, and learn the signs and symbols for Stages 7 and 8 of the Core Vocabulary.
You will receive a Participant’s Manual which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.
Participants must have completed Level 3 training.
